Shawn’s practice includes a wide variety of civil litigation including: personal injury, wrongful death, employment law, commercial litigation, and intellectual property litigation (patent, trademark, and trade secret). This broad practice has given him experience in many different aspects of litigation including: case assessment and research, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, hearing presentation, and trial presentation. Shawn has tried multiple jury trials to successful verdict as lead trial counsel and has been selected by Thomson Reuters as a Rising Star since 2014.
Shawn received a B.A. from Albion College, graduating magna cum laude, where he double majored in political science and philosophy with a concentration in law, society, and justice. While at Albion College Shawn was elected into Phi Beta Kappa. Before attending law school he traveled to South Korea and taught English.
Shawn attended Baylor Law School, graduating cum laude. While at Baylor, he competed on Baylor’s interscholastic mock trial and moot court teams. He was also an associate editor of the Baylor Law Review and a member of the order of barristers.
Shawn is admitted to practice in Texas and Arkansas, all United States District Courts in Arkansas, Texas, and Colorado, the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Federal Circuits, and before the United States Supreme Court.
